Senior PHP Developer / London / Permanent / £45,000 - £55,000

PHP / Symfony / Laravel / OOP / TDD / Continuous Integration / MySQL


As a Senior PHP Developer you will work closely with the technical lead, with the aim to deliver quality software solutions across a variety of platforms and web applications. Delivering ecommerce web services from strategy led, data driven solutions and offering bespoke services that continue to lead the market


Responsibilities

  • Develop web applications using Symfony2/Laravel frameworks, and other bespoke in-house components
  • Work closely with product owners and project managers to define feature specifications, and collaboratively refine a technical solution
  • Perform periodic peer reviews of software and configuration changes
  • Contribute to our software architecture and optimize existing code


Skills & Experience

  • Extensive web and software development experience.
  • Track record of developing scalable web applications
  • Strong knowledge of handwritten PHP, JavaScript, HTML andCSS
  • Experience with automated testing, including TDD
  • In-depth experience with the Symfony (2 or 3) or Zend (2 or 3) frameworks.
  • Familiarity with the Laravel framework.
  • Experience developing RESTFul APIs
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Design Patterns (PHP)
  • Extensive experience with MySQL and strong knowledge of optimisation methods
  • Experience with continuous inspection/integration pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Scrutinizer, Quay.io
  • Strong command of a Linux based development environment
  • Experience with version control systems (preferably Git or Mercurial)
  • Agile/SCRUM or Kanban


Desirable

  • Experience working with Docker (defining build files, using in development)
  • Elasticsearch (or, alternatively, SOLR) search index solutions
  • XDebug
