Senior Digital Dev Ops


Leading, supervising or line-managing the Dev Ops Team. Operational management of Linux servers, delivering a complex web application stack. Building and configuring new server platforms and the automated tooling to do so. Testing, debugging and troubleshooting of platform level problems. Supporting development teams with configuring applications for deployment. Have demonstrable experience configuring web and application servers and possess a fundamental understanding of Linux. Have a strong technical foundation in build, release and environments. Have advanced Programming skills. Building and supporting a large production platform.

o Responsible for leading the delivery and maintenance of effective cloud services, to ensure the optimal service is available to end users through sound supplier choice and management.
o Ensure Proactive monitoring is in place and fit for purpose.
o Ensuring the balance between Cost, Performance and resilience is correctly managed and appropriately applied.
o Develop a plan to take components of cloud delivery in house and grow DVSA's in-house cloud delivery capability and execute the delivery
o Oversee day to day management of the DVSA's cloud services, ensuring adherence to SLA's and appropriate legislation.
o Identifying and implementing functional, performance and quality improvements to cloud services.
o Ensure that a corporate knowledge base of expertise in cloud services is created and maintained.
o Provide support and guidance to Corporate Systems and the Digital Team to ensure appropriate use of the cloud platform.
o Work with the release teams, Service Management and the SIAM to ensure SLA's are met.
o Ensure Business Continuity and DR plans are in place for the cloud services and the plans are appropriately updated and tested.
o Champion improvements to deliver new and updated cloud services, according to the needs of the business.
o Maintain an oversight of and insight into the evolving cloud landscape through attendance in steering groups and supplier events.
o Work with Architecture on agreeing new design patterns and their move into operation.
o Share knowledge on Cloud computing and mentor others within the directorate where required
