Job Description

As the Android Developer, you will be responsible for pushing mobile technologies, working alongside a team of engineers to design and build the next generation of mobile applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build innovative applications for the Android platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to not only define, but also design and ship new features
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency

Your Experience

  • Over 3 years of object oriented software development
  • Contributed to at least one published native Android application
  • Demonstrated strengths in Java, Kotlin and the Android SDK
  • Google Play services and Android support libraries
  • Interacting directly with the Gradle build system
  • Experience producing applications that support as many devices as possible; degrading gracefully where required
  • An understanding of Google's Material Design and Android Design Principles
  • Strong with an IDE suitable for Android development; I.E Android Studio or Intellij
  • Working with Agile methodologies including Scrum and KanBan
  • Consuming REST services in Android applications
  • Strong understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
  • Secure coding practices
  • Using version control systems within teams (such as GIT)

Your skills

  • A wealth of experience creating multilingual and multi-variant applications
  • Experience in Java and Kotlin
  • Experience with RxJava and RxAndroid
  • Experience with TDD, BDD
  • Experience with Continuous Integration
  • Experience with Git and git branching models
  • Experience with OOP and design patterns
  • Experience with Jenkins
